Earth Month is here, and momentum is building at the State Capitol in Hartford. With just a month left of the Connecticut legislative session, this is a critical moment for the environment, public health, and future. Your engagement can make a real difference.

In case you missed it, catch up on what happened at the community forum on the proposed methane gas pipeline that Eversource wants to build under the Connecticut River. The forum included information and resources about the proposed pipeline and its impacts on our health, climate, local environment, and utility bills.

Oil and gas corporations and the politicians that support them have rigged our energy system for their own profit. The Energy Bills Relief Act was just introduced to help fight back. It would lower electricity costs, protect against utility shutoffs, and create good-paying clean energy jobs for our communities.

Right now, America’s public lands are under threat. The Trump Administration and Congress are attempting to strip protections for National Monuments. These and more wilderness areas need to be protected from mining, roads, and development — and Sierra Club members are fighting for that!

Imagine taking relatively easy actions in your yard that will meaningfully "restore and protect the natural habitats that support all life."  Now imagine that your near neighbors, your whole neighborhood, your whole town, and the neighboring town also take those actions to enlarge and restore native habitats.
