Military Outdoors Comes to Connecticut
Ann Gadwah
We have some huge news at the Connecticut Chapter. We are in the process of bringing the Sierra Club Military Outdoors program to the state. We envision this program to be a mutually beneficial partnership between the Chapter and the veteran, active military, and military family communities. And we cannot wait to get started.
The link between being outdoors and health is well documented. The main focus of this program will be holding outings for the military community and families here in Connecticut. These outings will be held by veterans and for veterans. Our hope is that we can create a safe, inclusive, and mindful environment for those who protect our country and our freedom.
We are looking for volunteers to become Outings Leaders for the program. If you are a veteran or active military and are looking to become involved in the program, please email me at ann.gadwah@sierraclub.org or Alycia Jenkins at alycia.jenkins@sierraclub.org.
Keep an eye out for more updates and check our Sierra Club Connecticut's Events & Outings for planned outings.
