Did you know?

Connecticut is ranked #1 in the U.S. for hiking — yes, number one! With 824 miles of blue-blazed trails stretching across every corner of the state, Connecticut offers routes for every kind of explorer. From quick woodland walks to challenging ridge trails, there’s simply no better way to breathe in fresh air, reset your mind, and leave behind the stresses of daily life.

Yet, while Connecticut is rich in natural beauty, not all communities experience equal access.

Urban neighborhoods continue to face environmental burdens — fewer trees, limited shade, fragmented green spaces, and barriers to enjoying the same natural assets celebrated statewide. Our work this year has been focused on shifting that reality through advocacy, youth leadership, stewardship, and community-driven projects.

Reflecting on the Year So Far 🍁

As autumn settles in, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible momentum you’ve helped build:

  • Community-led environmental justice conversations

  • Uplifting Youth and Resident Voices for the conservation of Remington Woods

  • Supporting increased access to Remington Woods

  • Creative projects that uplift local stories and green spaces

Your participation, voice, and support continue to shape what’s possible.
