Job: Freelance Journalist How long with ICO: since 1993 Other work with youth: I've led a Girl Scout troop, was a staffer for an environmental education program, volunteered with in-school and after-school programs for years; raised two children to be wonderful young adults

Other outdoor experience: I've done lots of day hiking and biking, including multi-day bike trips; I love swimming, canoeing and whitewater rafting.

Favorite Hike: Riga Plateau and Sage's Ravine on the AT (CT/MA border)

Best ICO Trip: cross-country skiing with kids who had never done it before; despite some of them falling constantly, at the end of the trip they all said it was great!

Why I work with ICO: to combine my love of being with children with my love of being outdoors, exercising my body, mind and spirit in nature. I love seeing kids challenge themselves and succeed.
